Inside Bristol Energy
Sam was one of our very first employees as the Billing and Collections Team Leader. She is leading a growing team using her experience from another small independent supply company.
It is really early days but I’ve been impressed from day one that the vision and ethos for the company has matched my experience here. There is nothing more exciting than being involved in a new venture from the very start – my ideas and suggestions are having an impact and the role is mine to shape.
My first tasks have involved setting up a call centre and discussing back end processes that will make Bristol Energy a customer-focused company. I personally hope to fulfil my ambitions and be fully involved in the growth and success of Bristol Energy.
Where you could be working
We want to be one of the most creative and dynamic small energy suppliers out there but we also want to do everything by the book. Energy is one of the most scrutinised and regulated sectors so we need to be completely confident that the way we do our business is compliant with what is expected. You could be helping us oversee policy changes, lobby government and ensure that we are consistent in our conversations with customers.
Commercial and Trading
We can only offer fair and transparent prices through timely, accurate and reliable forecasting and trading. This team can predict when everyone will turn up their heating as well as how international markets will affect our business. You could be helping us manage risk, define our hedging strategies or bring ideas for new tariff structures.
To grow and fulfill our promises to our customers and our city we’ll need tight and targeted control on budgets. This team will manage every penny through the business and ensure that our only shareholder, Bristol City Council, is confident in our ability to manage all transactions and accountancy. You could be preparing our annual report, managing contracts and making sure our customers’ bills work.
Where would we be without a system for everything we need to achieve? Through an understanding of the customer journey, this team will manage the way we achieve better ways of working for the whole business.
Communications and sales
Bristol Energy will speak clearly to our customers and potential customers. We’ll need to know who they are, what makes them tick and how they consume information. You’ll help us define the look, tone and presence of Bristol Energy as a national challenger brand with a social ethos. You could be briefing advertising agencies, running digital campaigns and organising community events.
Exceptional customer service is a key promise for our domestic and business customers. We’re expecting high standards, both on the phone and in person whether helping a customer who is thinking of joining us, is moving house or needs some energy saving advice. You’ll be at the heart of our business helping us build a reputation for first class service.
Behind the scenes we have relationships with a wide range of suppliers and partners and data to scrutinise and manage from a wide range of sources. You’ll be at the centre of making sense of this for our business and building long and successful relationships for those who want to work with us.
